Recently I spent a year travelling in Mexico and Central America. For a while I sold small drawings, stickers I had made and recycled jewelry  (some pictures are below) until in the final months of my trip I broke my hand and (after a two day trip to the hospital) had it set and put in a cast....

...But now I couldn't do most of the stuff required for low budget traveling or earn my way with drawing or jewelry - so I asked the owner of a small hostal in San Cristobal de las Casas (Chiapas, Mexico) if i could stay for free in exchange for labor and he very kindly agreed...

...Later though when he saw the drawings in my room he changed his mind and offered me his first ever position as 'Casa Morada' Artist in Residence.
